The concept of homeschooling children initially gained popularity in the 1970s as parents began to lose confidence in traditional schooling patterns. The trend continued to grow among the western and European countries and soon reached India. Today it is seen as a growing trend that offers parents an alternative to provide their children education at home. While, on one hand, homeschooling provides greater educational freedom, it also requires much much more money, resources and energy from both the parents’ and child’s side on the other. Similarly, getting the child involved in a traditional school environment would inculcate values like teamwork, sharing, competence and independence but there are always chances of the kid getting involved in bad company.
